ARREST          MONBIOT 

Your arrest of George Monbiot may be largely symbolic but will have great resonance both politically and culturally.

 

It is essential that you carry out your arrest peacefully and respectfully.

 

We suggest laying a gentle hand on George Monbiot’s shoulder or elbow, so that he cannot complain of being hurt or trapped.

 

Once you have his attention say clearly that you are making a Citizens Arrest on Nuclear Crimes Against Humanity and that you are doing this on behalf of victims of Sellafield, Chernobyl and Fukushima and to prevent more nuclear victims.

 

Invite Mr Monbiot to accompany you to the nearest police station to answer the charge.

 

If there are police officers present explain the charge to them and encourage them to arrest Mr Monbiot.

 

You are not likely to get much further than that and Mr Monbiot will use the nuclear marketing ploy words of pie in the sky:  thorium, prism and fusion to try to baffle and silence you.

 

In the real world rather than in the world of nuclear PR it is,  as Mr Monbiot well knows, business as usual, complete with uranium mining and nuclear wastes.

 

As long as the arrest attempt is picked up by the media, the point will be made that Mr Monbiot is committing a Nuclear Crime Against Humanity by his promotion and enabling of continued and accelerating nuclear power.

 

Note to Remember: This is a symbolic but extremely powerful action to take. Please do not give Mr Monbiot any excuse to sue you for false imprisonment or charge you with assault. Private citizens have none of the legal protections police do when making an arrest.
